The Flow Room

A Space for Free Movement & Stillness

Welcome to the Flow Room

I'm Peter

I've been teaching yoga for years, and I keep noticing the same thing: people apologize before we even begin.

"Sorry, I'm not flexible."

"Sorry, I can't do that pose."

"Sorry, I'm not good at this."

“I have this injury, so I’m sorry, but I will need to skip certain poses”

I started wondering…what if we stopped trying to get somewhere or become “better?” What if movement wasn't about fixing, achieving, or perfecting anything? What if your body could just... be?

These days, I find myself questioning everything we've been taught about "wellness" and "practice." The shoulds, the sequences, the shapes we're supposed to make. I created Flow Room as an experiment because I believe moving without agenda—dancing, stretching, lifting, rolling on the floor, or sitting completely still—is a radical act of self-acceptance and has been a powerful addition to my own movement practices.

Flow Room has been inspired by my dear childhood friend, Anna Fusco - aka Lord Cowboy, and her ‘Night Moves’ offering - a creative space for people to do focused things together - laundry, art, yardwork, or anything they want. I loved this idea, and, with her permission, created this flow room.

Some people will come to dance wildly to their favorite songs. Others will use the space and time to cry, stretch, or breathe quietly on the floor. Some people will discover they need to move fast and strong; others realize they've been craving slow stretchy wiggles all along.

Whatever you do with this time is up to you. This flow room is simply a place to commit 90 minutes to free expression.

INTRODUCING THE FLOW ROOM: NOVEMBER

RECLAIMING YOUR BODY AND DEVOTING 90 MINUTES A WEEK TO MOVE WITHOUT AGENDA IS A RADICAL ACT

Join me on Zoom in November on Thursdays from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM PT for four sessions of togetherness to dance, stretch, flow, lift weights, roll on the floor, sit still, breathe, cry, laugh, or simply be. Reclaim your body. Release. Move, ever so gently, or fucking wildly!

This is a Zoom space that feels like a movement studio where no one's watching and everyone's welcome. It is safe.

We can't all be in each other's living rooms moving together, but we can hold space for each other in the background while following whatever rhythm our bodies are asking for.

THE FLOW ROOM offers 6 hours in NOVEMBER for you to GIVE YOUR BODY ANYTHING IT NEEDS.

The Invitation

What happens when you let go of sequence, shoulds, and shapes? What if movement was prayer, rebellion, and release—without rules?

The Flow Room is an experimental online space to move however you want. Dance. Stretch. Flow. Lift weights. Roll on the floor. Sit still. Breathe. Cry. Laugh. Just be. You’re free to follow my playlist or put on your own soundtrack. Camera on or off. This time is totally yours.

The Structure

Here’s how we’ll flow each week:

  • Opening Check-In (2–3 mins each): Say hello, share what’s alive for you.

  • Guided Centering (10 mins): Meditation + intention setting.

  • Open Movement (60 mins): Move however you feel called. I’ll share curated playlists (slow, fast, emotive, dance) in the chat—or play your own.

  • Closing Check-In (2–3 mins each): Space to reflect and witness one another.

Each week I’ll send out an email with some nuggets that have been on my mind and in my heart that hopefully give you some inspiration to guide your practice. I’ll also send a playlist that I intend to use for the practice. You’re welcome to use that, or create your own. I suggest spending some time and making a few playlists for different moods — fast/strong, ambient/chill, happy/inspiring, angsty/intense, or anything else that would feel interesting to move to. *I will not be sharing music through zoom, so we will all simply press play and mute our devices together and get going.

The Music

What Flow Room Is NOT

Not a class. Not choreography. No sequence. Not performance. Not even yoga.

Not about getting better at anything or achieving any shape.

Not recorded. No one's watching, grading, or judging, and you can’t watch a replay later! This is live and alive, in the moment shared energy.

What Flow Room IS

An open studio space on Zoom where your body gets to move however it wants

Freedom, together - following whatever rhythm your body/mind/heart is asking for

A container (I always hated that word, but now it feels right) to move without restriction or instruction. Just intuition and trust.

Why Join The Flow Room?

A month-long weekly ritual to come home to yourself without apology

Community without performance or pressure to be anything other than exactly as you are

Freedom to move, shake, release, or rest - your body knows what it needs

Your music or mine - create playlists that inspire whatever strong or soft movement you crave

90 minutes a week committed totally to yourself and your most authentic needs

What People Are Saying

"I never feel more grounded and at peace in body, mind, and soul as when I am in practice with Peter. In the course of a 60 or 75-minute class, I sweat, sing, and genuinely laugh, all of which is facilitated gently and brilliantly by Peter’s instruction. I credit my practice with Peter with the ability to keep myself (somewhat) sane over these long months of quarantine - when I am in the Zoom room I know I am never alone. Thank you, Peter!"

“A pure delight. I found myself stretched both physically and mentally as I became more aware of my proprioception as well as interoception and exteroception. Peter's supportive approach leaves you feeling calm and recharged. Thank you, Peter. It is always an honor to be in your Zoom room."
— RB
“One of the bright spots of the COVID shut down is getting to have a regular yoga practice. Peter has clarified the concept of “Begin Again” in my head; this is now a mantra I use regularly. And, he plays great music and is goofy. I’m so thankful to have a regular practice with Peter."
— JB
“At a time when the whole world seems to be upside down, practicing yoga with Peter gives me the peace and calm to be able to go forth in the world and make a difference. I always look forward to his soothing voice and his wacky suggestions and I’m so grateful that I found him when I did."
— GP
“Peter’s classes are transformative magic. It’s hard to put into words how beautiful of a teacher Peter is. He has a unique way of cultivating loving awareness in his students, not only while on the mat but also in life in general. The experience he creates is all-encompassing and awakens in us the true magic of life. The music lifts us, the chants and meditations ground us, and the postures, sequence flow, and loving guidance serve to open our joints and our hearts simultaneously, like a beautiful symphony. There is a playfulness to Peter that is infectious and he emanates a vibration of healing love that ripples through each of his teachings. I cannot recommend Peter’s classes enough. Take them and it just might change your life!"

"This was the first time in a while I have joined one of Peter’s classes. Missed the live but I did the recording. I’ve been struggling to get back into my yoga practice but today’s Weekend Welcoming Flow reminded me of exactly why I started. It was like I was meditating. My mind and body were just flowing, not a worry about anything else. Nothing but peace, joy, and occasional laughs at myself for falling out of a pose or Peter’s lovely humor. Crow pose and back bend are normally poses I doubt myself about doing but today was just different. The music had me positively motivated and I just did these harder poses what felt like perfectly to me. So overall, today’s experience was wonderful for me. Thank you for being you, Peter and hosting this class. I love it."
